What to Expect
Dress comfortably. Leave your phone in the car if you can. There is no dress code — we simply ask for quiet once the session begins.
We provide chairs and floor cushions. Sit however your body is at ease. A facilitator will guide the opening and closing of the session.
Some people leave quietly; others stay for tea and conversation. There is no expectation either way.
Common Questions
No. Our teaching is rooted in the Christian contemplative tradition, but the practice we offer — silence, attention, mindful breathing — is recognizable across traditions and is offered without requiring participants to adopt any particular belief. Newcomers, longtime practitioners, and curious skeptics are equally welcome.
No. You're welcome to sit, observe, and leave without saying a word. We don't corner visitors. Your reasons for coming are your own.
Group programs are offered free or on a donation basis. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and depend on community generosity, but donations are never required to participate. If cost is ever a barrier for one-on-one sessions, a sliding scale is available.
Our programs are oriented toward adults seeking sustained contemplative practice. If you have questions about attending with family, please write to us first so we can advise.
Yes. Our meeting space is ground-floor and accessible. Please let us know in advance if you have any specific access needs so we can welcome you well.
Before You Come
We keep group sessions small and welcoming. A brief message before your first visit lets us greet you by name and confirm the upcoming schedule — but it is not required.
